Purpose of position

The General Worker will support the day-to-day operations of the solar energy project. They will assist with various tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and general operation of solar energy systems. The role requires individuals who are dependable, physically fit and willing to work in outdoor environments.

Scope

The goal is to produce and maintain well-functioning solar connections to minimize the probability of accidents.

Responsibilities

1. Site Preparation and Setup:

Assist in preparing the site for solar panel installation, including clearing debris, setting up equipment, and organizing tools.

1. Material Handling:

Transport solar panels, components, and tools to and from the installation area. Ensure materials are handled carefully to avoid damage.

1. Assisting Installers and Technicians:

Support the solar panel installers and electrical technicians in their work. This could include holding materials, providing tools, or helping in the assembly of components.

1. Construction and Installation Support:

Participate in tasks related to the mounting, wiring, and placement of solar panels and associated infrastructure.

1. Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Wear required safety gear, report hazards, and adhere to project-specific safety regulations.

1. General Labour Duties:

Perform various labour-intensive tasks as required, such as digging trenches, lifting heavy materials, and cleaning the work site.

1. Maintenance and Repairs:

Assist with the general upkeep of solar panel systems, including cleaning panels and equipment and performing minor repairs as needed.

1. Logistical Support:

Help coordinate the delivery and organization of materials on-site to ensure efficient work progress.

1. Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other workers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure that work is completed on time and to the required standards.

Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
