Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Floating Production Unit Master


Job Purpose:

  1. Responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of offshore facilities.
  2. The role ensures maintenance work is executed in accordance with Company management systems, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities while supporting asset integrity and production continuity.


Financial Perspective:

•  Support asset uptime by minimizing unplanned equipment failures and downtime.

• Control maintenance-related OPEX through effective planning, prioritization, and resource utilization.

• Prevent costly rework and equipment damage through quality maintenance execution.

• Support cost-effective spares usage and maintenance strategies.


Organization Perspective:

• No. of Direct Report: 5 pax

• No. of Indirect Report: 15 pax


Principal Accountabilities


Implementation of Management System & Risk Assessment:

• Implement and comply with the Company HSSE MS and Field MS (FMS).

• Ensure marine operations follow approved procedures, risk assessments, and permits.

• Participate in HIRA/JSA, toolbox talks, and marine safety meetings.

• Identify, report, and escalate hazards, near misses, and non-conformances.

• Stop work and escalate when marine risks are not adequately controlled.


Maintenance Execution & Assurance:

  1. Prepare Engine Room Plant & Systems and subsystems for startup including vessel utility systems
  2. Start and monitor engine room plant & systems including vessel utility systems
  3. Prepare and shutdown Engine Room Plant & Systems including vessel utility systems
  4. Isolate and reinstate Engine Room Plant and for maintenance, including vessel utility systems
  5. Supervise execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
  6. Ensure work quality meets technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Verify equipment isolation, reinstatement, and functional testing.
  8. Ensure maintenance records, checklists, and reports are completed accurately.
  9. Support troubleshooting and defect elimination initiatives.


Planning, Scheduling & SIMOPS Coordination:

  1. Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance plans with operations.
  2. Manage maintenance priorities based on risk, criticality, and production impact.
  3. Ensure safe execution of maintenance during SIMOPS.
  4. Liaise with planners and CMMS administrators to ensure accurate work management.


People & Crew Management:

• Supervise and guide maintenance technicians and contractors.

• Ensure personnel competence, certification, and task readiness.

• Conduct toolbox talks, task briefings, and performance feedback.

• Promote strong safety culture, discipline, and teamwork.


Materials, Spares & Resources Control:

• Monitor usage and availability of tools, spares, and consumables.

• Ensure proper storage, preservation, and traceability of maintenance materials.

• Report spares shortages and support inventory management.

• Support audits and inspections related to maintenance resources.


Stakeholder Interface & Reporting:

• Interface with Production, Marine, HSE, and Offshore Management.

• Communicate maintenance status, risks, and constraints clearly.

• Support audits, inspections, and client engagements.

• Provide accurate maintenance progress and performance reports.


Emergency Response:

• Actively participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

• Execute assigned emergency duties related to leaks, spills, or pump failures.

• Support emergency drills and preparedness activities.

• Take immediate actions to protect personnel, asset, and environment during emergencies.


Key Challenges:

• Balancing maintenance priorities with production demands.

• Executing maintenance safely in a live offshore environment.

• Managing SIMOPS with multiple disciplines and contractors.

• Responding to urgent breakdowns and equipment failures.

• Leading a multicultural maintenance workforce offshore.

• MOFF: General Manager, Senior Manager, Manager, Executive: Project, Asset Operations, Procurement & Logistics, Contracts Management, Engineering and Design, QHSSE and IM, Finance, Corporate Legal Department, Group Finance & Insurance

• Client / Client's Contractor

• Classification Body, Government Authority, Statutory & Regulatory Body


Competencies, Experience, Qualifications:

Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of offshore mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

• Understanding of maintenance strategies and work management.

• Knowledge of PTW, isolations, and SIMOPS.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in Marine and Oil & Gas Operations

• FPSO/FPU or offshore facility experience preferred.

• Experience supporting shutdowns, audits, and integrity programs.

• Exposure to CMMS and maintenance planning systems.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline preferably majoring in Marine or Mechanical or equivalent.

Or;

• Certificate of Competency (CoC):

o Class 2 Second Engineer >3000 kW Unlimited (minimum Class 4 Watchkeeping Engineer

»750 kW Unlimited), or

• Possession of the above CoC qualifications will be considered an advantage.
